Solid‐state conversion synthesis converts solid precursors into target materials through chemical reactions. This strategy cannot only precisely manipulate electronic structure to reveal the structure–activity relationship, but also synergistically manipulate electronic structure and micro‐/nanostructure to achieve the copromotion of inherent and apparent activity. In their Minireview on page 3961 ff., B. Zhang et al. summarize the specific methods solid‐state conversion synthesis for the design and preparation of water‐splitting electrocatalysts.
