Borosulfates – structurally analogue to silicates : Ni[B 2 (SO 4 ) 4 ] and Co[B 2 (SO 4 ) 4 ] are two new borosulfates with phyllosilicate‐like topology. While the anionic subunits of both structures are homeotypic, the positions of the cations differ. Ni II cations are located between the layers, while the Co II cations are embedded within. By means of in silico investigation of other borosulfates with divalent cations, trends in phyllosilicate analogues are uncovered and lead to the prediction of new species.
