So soft and yet so strong ! Bismuth Lewis acids undergo efficient adduct formation with soft donors such as SPMe 3 and SePMe 3 . The 31 P NMR chemical shift can be used as an easily accessible experimental parameter for the assessment of soft Lewis acidity.
