Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) have attracted enormous attention due to their outstanding energy applications. Although these materials have been intensively investigated, some fundamental aspects of their chemistry remain elusive for the scientific community. This work explores the covalent functionalization with (3‐aminopropyl)trietoxysilanes of a NiFe‐LDH, widely known for its excellent electrochemical properties. The influence of the covalent grafting on its structure, morphology, magnetism, adsorptive properties, and electrochemical behavior is fully addressed, paving the way to the synthesis of new hybrid materials and architectures.
