In recent times, fluorine aromatic and aliphatic substitution has become one of the key structural traits in modern pharmaceuticals. Many of the most successful drugs contain fluorine atoms, offering advances in the treatment of various diseases. In this Review by V. A. Soloshonok et al. on page 11797 ff., an outline of 17 fluorine‐containing drugs introduced to the market in 2018 is presented.
