Go for gold ! Combining the catalytic properties of gold with the stability of polyoxometalates (POMs) leads to a range of hybrid materials with potential for catalysis. This review focuses on the synthesis of interclusters and complexes merging gold(I) cations and POM anions, and their applications in gold catalysis, where they are assessed in terms of efficiency, synergistic effects and recyclability.
