New strategies to overcome bacteria resistance based on the use of bio‐organometallic compounds are summarized in the Minireview of M. A. Sierra et al. on page 7232 ff. Different classes of bio‐organometallic compounds, including amongst others β‐lactam‐derived compounds, Ag I complexes, and metalla‐peptides, are discussed with respect to their synthesis and effectiveness. The usefulness of structure–activity relation studies to gain information on the mode of action of, for example, bio‐organometallic antimicrobial peptides is presented.
