In the Minireview by Z. Cheng et al. on page 3979 ff., recent achievements in wetting control based on the shape memory effect of shape memory polymers are introduced. Lots of smart wetting performances such as reversible transition between hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity, switchable water adhesion, controllable droplet bouncing are described. Finally, some new designing strategies for novel smart shape memory superwetting materials were also advanced.
