A new type of switchable photoluminescent dye was developed. The monomesylated 2‐sulfanyhydroquinone dimer emits blue light upon irradiation with UV light, whereas its photoluminescence activity turns off upon acylation of the phenolic hydroxyl group. The photoluminescence is readily restored by removal of the acyl group through hydrolysis. A chemical reaction turns on/off of the fluorescence. More information can be found in the Full Paper by A. Kamimura et al. on page 14081.
