An event in artificial cell‐surface decoration using cholesterol‐fused peptides, the protein of interest, and microbial transglutaminase (MTG) is depicted in the artwork. MTG catalyzes the cross‐linking reaction between a specific glutamine (Q) in a protein and lysine (K); thus, a green fluorescent protein fused with LLQG (Q‐tagged GFP) was conjugated with cholesterol‐fused K‐tagged peptide free in the solution or anchored on a cell‐membrane in the presence of MTG.
