2‐Iminopyrroles are non‐fluorescent π systems. However, alkali metal bases deprotonate the pyrrole and are chelated by the bidentate ligand. This method rigidifies the π system, restricts intramolecular motions, and consequently disfavors non‐radiative relaxation pathways enabling blue fluorescence in solution.
