Alkenyl magnesium compounds are frequently used in organic synthesis and they are often proposed as active intermediates in organic synthesis. Currently, there are three main types of alkenyl magnesium compounds, including alkenyl Grignard reagents, alkenyl magnesium carbenoids and magnesacarbocycles containing alkenyl magnesium bonds. In their Minireview on page 19122 ff., W.‐X. Zhang, Z. Xi et al. have summarized the preparation, reactivity and application of these three types of alkenyl magnesium compounds.
