The synthesis of fullerene derivatives with adjustable polarities and their lyotropic aggregation properties is described. Their polarity range spans from superhydrophobic to hydrophilic while simultaneously bearing an extra reactive position in order to graft them onto other materials. Their hydrophobic/hydrophilic behaviour has been characterised both in solution and surface as well as their supramolecular assemblies. For more details, see Full Paper by A.
