An abundant and inexpensive C1 source is CO 2 which can be used to enhance the chain length or functionalization of a wide range of reactive organic molecules for the synthesis of fuels and fine chemicals. An overview is presented on the recent progress and promising future of the porous nanomaterials as heterogeneous catalysts for several CO 2 fixation reactions. For more details, see the Review by A. Bhaumik et al. on page 7278 ff.
