Social amoebae are soil‐dwelling protists , which display both a uni‐ and a multicellular life cycle. Besides being important model organisms to study cellular processes, as well as the evolution of multicellularity, they are also prolific producers of structurally diverse natural products. In this review, we present secondary metabolites isolated from these amoebae and describe their total syntheses, where applicable. More information available on page 4202 ff.
