By using a photosensitizer as a molecular catalyst , chromogenic 3,3′,5,5′‐tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) can be directly oxidized by oxygen with green LED irradiation, avoiding expensive and unstable peroxidase and hydrogen peroxidase. For more information on demonstrating its application for detection of cancer biomarkers, see the Full Paper by P. Wu and J. Liu et al. on page 2602 ff.
