Triazamacrocyclic model platforms are used as ideal square‐planar or octahedral scaffolds for unraveling key mechanistic details in transition‐metal‐catalyzed cross coupling and C−H functionalization reactions. The ability of these model systems to stabilize metastable species is used as a bottom‐up approach to shed light into reaction mechanisms. For more information see the Concept article by X. Ribas and M. Devillard on page 1222 ff.
