Selective transmetallation from copper(I) or silver (I) to palladium(0) at P donors of the rigid multidentate ligand PC NHC P results when [M 3 (μ 3 ‐ PC NHC P ) 2 ](OTf) 3 (M=Cu, Ag) reacts with [Pd(PPh 3 ) 4 ]. The graphic illustrates the double short‐bite nature of the ligand system that stabilizes the metal chain and favors attractive d 10 ‐d 10 closed‐shell interactions without restraining reactivity.
