Hierarchical ZIF‐8‐on‐ZIF‐67 gas separation membranes : It is possible to synthesize hierarchical thin layers and nanoparticles with precise growth control on the nanometer scale by self‐assembly. The neat ZIF‐8‐on‐ZIF‐67 layers are supported α‐Al 2 O 3 , while nanoparticles are embedded in free‐standing mixed‐matrix membranes. The ZIF‐8‐on‐ZIF‐67 membranes show increased performance compared with membranes with only ZIF‐8 or ZIF‐67. More information can be found in the Communication by A. Knebel et al. on page 5728.
