Materials Chemistry Mesoporous carbons are attracting more and more interest as an interdisciplinary topic among physical chemistry, material science, membrane science, catalysis, sorption, separation, analytical chemistry, and electrochemistry. In recent years, research on mesoporous carbon has entered a rapid growth period. In their Minireview on page 1986 ff., S. Dai et al. summarize recent advances in the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of mesoporous carbons with functional compositions and briefly discusses next‐generation mesoporous carbons.
