K 3 B 6 O 9 F 3 , a first fluorooxoborate containing four different units, that is, [BO 3 ] 3− , [BO 4 ] 5− , [BO 3 F] 4− , and [BO 2 F 2 ] 3− , has been designed and synthesized by two different routes. The unique anionic2∞ [B 6 O 9 F 3 ] 3− layers avoid forming terminal oxygen atoms, which are beneficial to enlarge the band gap. The structure‐properties relationship of the title compound is discussed.
