The comproportionation reaction between Cu 2+ and Cu in the presence of a tert ‐butylacetylene ligand gives two high‐nuclear Cu I clusters. This process exemplifies a new synthetic protocol for the preparation of high‐nuclear Cu I –alkynyl clusters. The clusters show an unusual emissive phenomenon with simultaneous changes in the NIR and thermochromic luminescence properties. More information can be found in the Full Paper by D. Sun et al. on page 17619 ff.
