The expansion of trinucleotide repeat sequences in human genome is known as causatives of more than 40 hereditary neurological disorders. The mechanism of the Myotonic Dystrophy Type 1 (DM1) disorder involves a gain‐of‐function model due to a toxic RNA of the expanded r(CUG) n repeats. The dual luciferase assay indicated that binding of this molecule to the r(CUG) n repeat affected the translation in vitro. More information can be found on page 14881 ff. in the Full Paper by K.
