Tris‐cyclometalated Pt IV complexes constitute an emerging platform for the development of strongly phosphorescent materials that combine long‐lived, ligand‐centered emissions with a highly oxidizing character in the excited state. Emission colors ranging from blue to orange have been achieved through the variation of one the cyclometalating ligands. Experimental studies and computational calculations provide insight into the factors that govern the excited‐state properties of this class of compounds. For more details, see the Full Paper by P.
