Polyoxometalate ligands play a key role in facilitating a ruthenium catalyst access to a high‐valent reactive state in aerobic oxidation in water. In their Full Paper on page 10932 ff. , C. Bo, M. Bonchio et al. show that the reaction involves novel ruthenium–peroxo and oxene intermediates embedded within a totally inorganic POM environment. This breakthrough perspective is one the central themes of the European COST action entitled Polyoxometalate Chemistry for Molecular Nanoscience (PoCheMoN). The cover art is inspired by the popular fantasy game (Pokémon).
