Weighing in… on uranyl phase stability. Two uranyl polyoxometalates that differ only by the anion encapsulated in the center are assessed by computational and experimental methods. Thermodynamic and molecular‐orbital calculations agree that stability is gained by increasing cation/anion interactions.
