Triangular Au–Ag 2 S hybrid nanoframes were successfully synthesised by using Ag nanoprisms as templates through gold coating, etching and sulfuration. These Au–Ag 2 S hybrid nanoframes exhibit effective photocurrent responses for potential photoelectrochemical applications.
