Combining three : The first examples of ternary rare‐earth transition‐metal polyhydride clusters (see figure) are reported. Cluster formation proceeds through CH bond activation of the Cp ligands that stabilize the transition‐metal‐containing starting material. Analysis of the electronic structure of the polyhydride cluster compounds revealed covalent ReLu bonding and ionic transition metal hydride–Lu interactions.
