The ternary dative sequence NHC→P + →Rh(CO) 2 operates in a cumulative way, providing carbeniophosphanes, better described as NHC→phosphenium adducts, with coordinating ability. In the Full Paper on page 7705 ff. , R. Chauvin, Y. Canac et al. show that extremely electron‐poor imidazoliophosphonites and imidazolioimidazolylphosphines act as improbable ligands in stable Rh I complexes, thus near to the critical point of a theoretical scale of potential ligands.
