Open‐and‐shut case : The cage CC bond cleavage of monosubstituted carborane derivatives at room temperature has now been achieved. This approach, which is facilitated by half‐sandwich complexes, provides a facile and direct synthesis of pseudocloso metallacarboranes (see scheme; dots indicate carbon atoms).
