Down at the crossed code : Novel arylboronic ester and biarylboronic ester derivatives were synthesized. Compound 1 can be activated by hydrogen peroxide to release 2,5‐bis(trimethylammonium) benzyl‐1,4‐diol ( 2 ), which leads to interstrand cross‐link formation and DNA alkylation (see scheme). Compound 1 provides a novel building block for the development of H 2 O 2 ‐targeting anticancer prodrugs.
