New class of macrocyclic single‐molecule magnet in which a single lanthanide ion is coordinated inside the designer cavity of a single macrocyclic ligand, are reported by L. F. Chibotaru, A. K. Powell, S. Brooker et al. in their Communication on page 4362 ff. This development will facilitate systematic studies of families of M 3 Ln complexes, in which M, Ln, and the Schiff base macrocycle size and substituents are varied, whilst retaining the M 3 Ln core.
