Fits the BiL 2 : A highly enantioselective method for the catalytic allylation of aromatic aldehydes was developed using Bi(OTf) 3 and Trost's ( R , R )‐ProPhenol ligand (see scheme). Good yields and high enantioselectivities were obtained for a variety of aromatic aldehydes. The disclosed method is the first example of an enantioselective allylation reaction of aldehydes using a chiral Bi III complex. A preliminary characterization of the Bi III pre‐catalyst is also reported.
