Nanoscopic amorphous Lewis acidic aluminium fluorides , such as aluminium chlorofluoride (ACF) and high‐surface aluminium fluoride (HS‐AlF 3 ), are capable of activating CH bonds of aliphatic hydrocarbons. H/D exchange reactions are catalysed under mild conditions (40 °C).
