The domino effect : The combination of two multiple bond‐forming transformations; a consecutive Wolff rearrangement/acylketene‐trapping cross metathesis reaction and a domino Michael–aldol reaction, in a one‐pot operation, provides a straightforward access to terpene‐like tricyclo[7.2.1.0 1,6 ]dodecane compounds (see scheme). A prolonged domino reaction leads to terpene‐like bicyclo[5.4.0]undecane compounds.
