Palladium and partner gels : A novel approach toward heterometallic gel materials is presented. A group of heterometallic coordination polymer gels have been prepared by simply mixing a rigid bifunctional ligand, Pd 2+ and TM n + (see graphic, TM n + =Cr 3+ , Mn 2+ , Fe 3+ , Co 2+ , Ni 2+ , Cu 2+ , Zn 2+ , Cd 2+ ). The nanofibre has a profound effect on the redox properties of the metal ions (Cu 2+ ).
