Superior hierarchy : A facile method was developed to synthesize hierarchical TiO 2 microspheres with nanotubular and dendritic structures. Owing to the high surface area and open porous networks, the synthesized TiO 2 microspheres exhibit a superior photocatalytic activity. This method provides a new strategy for the synthesis of hierarchical materials with particular morphologies.
