Amalgams : New ternary mercury intermetallic compounds have interpenetrating networks composed of Hg atoms that define 12‐vertex polyhedral cages and enclose clusters of the remaining atoms (see figure). Surprisingly, this structure is related to a zeolite and a ternary chalcogenide.
