Squeeze out the water! Chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed tandem double Friedel–Crafts reactions between indoles and 2‐formylbiphenyls were realized under mild conditions. The 9‐(3‐indolyl)fluorene derivatives were obtained in good yields and up to 96 % ee , leaving water as the sole by‐product (see scheme).
