Abstract Panacea for aldol desymmetrizations : We describe an easy entry for the desymmetrization of 4‐substituted‐cyclohexanones catalyzed by proline, using as cocatalysts different hydrogen‐bonding donors (see scheme), which dramatically improves the catalytic efficiency of proline in desymmetrization reactions.
