ABSTRACT This paper deals with a feasibility study of honeycomb‐paperboard glass composite beams for use in construction and façade construction. Based on a literature review of sandwich constructions, a basic concept for paper‐glass composite girders is presented. They are the first experimental and numerical investigations to confirm the potential for the novel combination of paper and glass as a composite material.
