With increasing depth and load‐bearing capacity of cold‐formed trapezoidal sheeting, they are used more often with hangers bolted to the webs of the sheeting. Several tests of the hangers resistance are shown for various type profile, sheet thickness and possible perforation of the web which are the main variable factors affecting the load capacity of the hanger connections. A simple and safe design procedure is given. More importantly, the distribution of the load applied by the hangers to the profiled sheeting ribs as concentrated load per the rib is often critical for the profile resistance in bending or to satisfy the deflection limit however the distribution of the load between the ribs is not known. Therefore an advanced numerical study (GMNIA) in software Abaqus was carried out for several section types and loading conditions. The model used for the analytical study was again validated by tests. The main conclusion of the paper is a developed design procedure allowing the possible redistribution of concentrated load between the ribs in case of simply supported members whose design is governed by deflection or bending resistance.
