The use of prestressed stayed steel column systems in construction has numerous advantages related to its high strength and assembly flexibility. The present work aims to present an investigation of the structural behaviour of duplex stainless steel columns through a numerical modelling, using the finite element method, through the ANSYS program. The results confirmed that the use of cable prestress significantly increases the ultimate loads and ductility of the system, indicating the potential of these efficient and promising solutions. This was mainly due to their considerable resistance gain and numerous advantages in replacing carbon by stainless steel.
