This paper studies the application possibilities of various mathematical analytical functions to models of approximation of sigmoid sensitometric curves of photographic materials. The newly developed functions have been tested along with approximation functions taken from the literature: the former fulfil the statistical criteria of fitting the regression and experimental curve in the best way. The model functions can be used not only for objective determination of sensitometric quantities but also for determination of the general sensitivity (speed) of photographic materials.
