Generations to come : Over the past decade, lithium‐ion batteries have been widely applied. However, they still face great challenges to further improve their energy density and stability. Therefore, it is necessary to develop alternative energy‐storage technologies with the potential for higher energy densities than those of lithium‐ion batteries, that are so‐called “beyond lithium‐ion batteries”.
