The Cover Feature shows a 3D microscopic image of a single carbon fiber microelectrode. The fibers are obtained from carbon felt materials, which are commonly used as electrodes in vanadium redox flow batteries. As the porous structure makes detailed investigations of the vanadium ion kinetics difficult, studies on single fiber electrodes can contribute to a better understanding of the electrode processes.
