Ex situ X‐ray absorption spectroscopy studies of lithium‐rich, cobalt‐poor Li[Li 0.2 Ni 0.16 Mn 0.56 Co 0.08 ]O 2 identify the structural and electronic changes taking place upon activation (initial lithium removal) and cycling, revealing the reversible redox activity of oxygen, as shown by S. Passerini et al. on p. 85.
