Mesoporous rutile TiO2 with a cereus‐shaped structure was synthesized through a low‐temperature sol‐gel synthesis approach in a bromide ionic liquid/water mixture. The electrochemical Li‐storage performance of the annealed material exhibits a high reversible capacity, long cycling stability, and excellent rate capability.
