The apparatus described allows successive TPR/TPO experiments on the same sample. A calibration method for the reducing or oxidizing gas mixture is described. The best operating conditions for optimal results and sensitivity are discussed. We have studied the application of TPR/TPO to bulk V 2 O 5 and to the redox behaviour of Cu II ions on silica‐alumina. The procedure resulted in reproducible TPR/TPO profiles.
