Activity coefficients of hydrocarbons and chloroparaffins at infinite dilution in methyl phenyl ether, butyl ether and methyl iso ‐butyl ketone at 293.15 K have been obtained by the retention‐time method in a modified gas chromatograph. The experimental data are compared with predictions of the UNIFAC and MOSCED models. Selectivities for the 1 , 1 , 1 ‐trichloroetane‐ 1 , 2 ‐dichloroetane separation process are reported.
